The Chairmaker is a band from Scotland, creating cinematic alt-rock and textural music. The band's members (Pete Nixon and Grant Macaskill) have been recording experimentally together since 2005, when they worked on Macaskill's third solo album, but have released little of their music to the public. Islanded (2021) is their first major release release, after the 2018 EP Reconstructed Versions.
